Pre Janathon Runs

To get into the spirit of Janathon I have been upping the running over the last week.  Starting out with a 10k+ Boxing Day run along Bognor seafront (it looks as good as the photo two days per year).  A couple of days later I ran along the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire (7K).  This was a mistake as I have nothing against cross country running, when it is dry.  My shoes tripled in weight with all the mud attached to them due to all the recent rain.  I will go out for another short run this afternoon.  I have managed to get my nikepod+ in sync with running free for logging the miles and at the moment I have a pre-race excitement building, except this race will be one month long.  Good luck to all participants in Janathon I have chated to a few of you already.

Paris 2009

This feeling did not last the whole race.

The Finish, but no PB :(
I would highly recommend the Paris Marathon, it is very well organised and a mixture of running past some of the most iconic buildings in the world and running through parks which could be any where.  The main advantage over London is you do not have to put up with a lottery and the waiting game.  If is first come, first served.  Then you can book up the Eurostar and hotel and get training.

Tokyo Marathon 2007

I am adding a few pictures to make the blog look a bit more interesting.  This was the first Tokyo International Marathon in 2007 and my last big race in Japan before I left.  As you can see the weather was shocking, rain and wind made the attempt for a new PB impossible.

First Post

I have signed up for Janathon 2011. A running competition, in which I have to run everyday and blog about it.  The running may not be too much of a problem but I thought I had better get started with the blogging part so I know what I am doing in January.  I will blog about my runs for the rest of December and try and add some running photos and opinions in the mean time.  http://www.janathon.com/
